Poonam Kaur is an Indian actress and model. She has frequently appeared in Telugu films apart from Tamil, Malayalam and Kannada films.
Born and brought up in Hyderabad, India, Poonam Kaur did her schooling there as well, before doing fashion designing at the National Institute of Fashion Technology (NIFT) in Delhi. In 2006, after her studies, she signed up for a film to be directed by Teja, which didn't take off for reasons unknown. However, she took up the offer for another Teja film, Oka Vichitram. Even before the release of that film, Kaur starred in another Telugu film, Mayajalam, which, in fact, released first.
Subsequently, she appeared in several Telugu films as Nikki And Neeraj, enacting the title role of Nikki and Souryam, alongside Gopichand and Anushka Shetty. For her performance in the latter, Kaur received a nomination for the Best Suuporting Actress Award for 2008. She made her acting debut in the Tamil and Kannada film industries, with S. A. Chandrasekhar's Nenjirukkum Varai and Bandhu Balaga, respectively. In 2009, she starred in the highly anticipated Tamil movie Unnaipol Oruvan, a remake of the 2008 Bollywood film, A Wednesday!, in which she played a small supporting role alongside legendary actors Kamal Haasan and Mohan Lal.

Riya Sen, born Riya Dev Varma on 24 January 1981, is an Indian film actress and model. Riya, who hails from a family of actors including her grandmother Suchitra Sen, mother Moon Moon Sen and sister Raima Sen, began her acting career in 1991 as a child artiste in the film Vishkanya. Her first commercial success in her film career was with Style, a 2001 Hindi low-budget comedy directed by N. Chandra. In quarterfinal she face Top seed Julia Goerges of Germany. She beat her in straight sets 6-1,7-6(8) and in semi final she won against 8th seed Evgeniya Rodina 6-3,4-6,6-4 to reach final. In final match she beat 5th seed Bojana Jovanovski 4-6,6-3,6-0 to clinch singles title.

2011

Mirza started her year with the ASB Classic Open in Auckland. She needed one more win to qualify for the tournament, but lost in three sets against Germany's Sabine Lisicki. She then competed at the 2011 Australian Open – Women's Singles Qualifying where she won three straight matches to qualify for the main draw. In the first round she went down fighting to former world no. 1 Justine Henin 5–7,6–3,6–1

Personal Life

In 2009, Sania Mirza got engaged with a childhood friend Sohrab Mirza, however this engagement did not last long. Mirza married Pakistani cricketer Shoaib Malik on April 12, 2010. The wedding was held in Hyderabad, India while the walima reception was held in Sialkot, Pakistan. The online attention the wedding generated made Mirza the most searched woman tennis player in 2010 according to Google Trends. The couple planned to settle down in Dubai.

She reached the final of the Bank of the West Classic and won the doubles event with Shahar Pe'er, and reached the quarterfinals of the Tier 1 Acura Classic.

At the 2007 U.S. Open, she reached the third round before losing to Anna Chakvetadze for the third time in recent weeks. She fared much better in the doubles, reaching the quarterfinals in mixed with her partner Mahesh Bhupathi and the quarterfinals in the women's doubles with Bethanie Mattek, including a win over number two seeds Lisa Raymond and Samantha Stosur.

Dia was born in December 9, 1981 in Hyderabad, Andhra Pradesh, India. Her dad's name was Frank Handrich, a German National, and an Interior Designer by profession, and her mom, Deepa, is Bengali-speaking. Deepa and Frank separated when Dia was 6, and Frank passed away three years later. Deepa then married Ahmed Mirza. The family lived in Khairatabad near Hyderabad and she completed her schooling in Vidyaranya High School and in Nasr School. Her step-father passed away during 2004.

She was introverted and unhappy as a child, and it was her parents, especially her mom, who instilled self-confidence and assisted her to break free from the barriers of low self-esteem.

At the age of 16, after completing her 10th standard, she got a job with Sriven Multi-Tech in Hyderabad. This job paved her way to modeling assignments with Lipton, Emami amongst others. With this exposure she was encouraged to participate in the 2000 Femina Miss India Beauty Pageant, which she did, came up the second runner-up and won three titles namely Femina Miss India-Pacific, Sony Viewer's Choice Award, and Miss Beautiful Smile. She went on to be crowned Miss Asia-Pacific on December 2, 2000 at Manila, making her the second Indian to win this award after a gap of 29 years.

Dia wanted to complete her graduation in Arts by correspondence, but decided to postpone it as it was becoming difficult to juggle between the Miss Asia Pacific Competition, modeling assignments, traveling and training. She was assisted by Sabira Merchant on diction and etiquette; diet with Anjali Mukherjee; gymnasium and physical fitness with Talwalkars; clothes from Ritu Kumar and Hemant Trivedi; skin care with Dr. Jamuna Pai; and make-up and hair-care from Bharat and Doris Godambe.

Dia made her debut on the tinsel screen with 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein' during 2001, and thus was able to launch her career as an actress.

While pursuing her studies in architecture, Rai began modelling on the side. In the 1994 Miss India contest, she won the second place behindSushmita Sen, and was crowned Miss India World. She went on to win the Miss World title the same year, where she also won the Miss Photogenic award. Rai appeared in dual roles, opposite veteran actor Mohanlal, with one of her roles being a cinematic depiction of political leader and ex-actress J. Jayalalithaa. Rai made her Bollywood debut in the film, Aur Pyaar Ho Gaya opposite Bobby Deol, which also released that year; the film did not do well at the box office, and was also panned by critics. However, her third project, S. Shankar's Tamil film, Jeans(1998) was a commercial success. The film was also noted for the song "Poovukkul", written by Vairamuthu, in the lyrics of which, she is compared to the seven wonders of the world and described as the eighth.

In 1999 Rai starred in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Hum Dil De Chuke Sanam opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. The film was centered on Rai's character, Nandini, who is forced to marry Devgan's character despite being in love with another man (Khan). As her husband tries to get her to her previous love, she eventually falls for him. Rai's portrayal won her critical acclaim, with a review on Rediff.com writing, "Aishwarya looks beautiful as usual ... This film will most likely draw her accolades from all over, maybe even get her recognised as an actress the way Manisha Koirala did in Khamoshi. In many scenes, there is no trace of makeup and she looks very fresh". The film became her first box office success in Bollywood and earned her first Filmfare Best Actress Award for her.

Charmy Kaur (born 17 May 1987; also spelt as Charmee or Charmi) is an Indian film actress, who has predominantly appeared in Telugu films. She acted with stars such asVenkatesh, Akkineni Nagarjuna, Jr. NTR, Prabhas, Siddarth, Ravi Teja, Sumanth, Nitin andDileep.She made her acting debut in the 2002 Telugu film Nee Thodu Kaavali, in which she acted as ahousewife at a mere age of 15. This film was a flop, but helped Charmme in getting noticed by the south Indian film industry. Her next film was Kadhal Azhavatillai with Silambarasan, which was also a flop. During this time she acted in a Malayalam film directed by Vinayan namedKattuchembakam. This film also bombed in box office. After that she acted in a couple more Tamil films but they bombed at the box office.

Her re-entry to Telugu movies happened with a film with Sreekanth which was a failure; then in Sri Anjaneyam, directed by ace directorKrishna Vamsi which too was a failed attempt. It was followed by another failure with Chanti, paired against Ravi Teja. She finally got a big break in Telugu with Gowri in which she was paired with Sumanth. She didn't have to look back afterwards. The stupendous success of Masswith Nagarjuna strengthened her position in Tollywood. Charmme's most indistinguishable and critically acclaimed film so far is Anukokunda Oka Roju. It was a heroine-oriented thriller. Her performance in the movie was acclaimed by critics.

In 2006 she acted in Pournami which was a total failure in spite of high expectations, but her performance was appreciated. Though she did not learn Indian classical dance, her Bharatanatyam and Kuchipudi dances in the film were appreciated by audiences. Later that year she was paired for the second time with Sumanth in Chinnodu but it was not a successful venture. Her next film, Rakhi (with NTR), was a hit. In2007 Mantra, a thriller with Charmme in the lead role, was declared as a surprise hit.This performance fetched her the Nandi Award for the best herione of 2007. Her performance in the movie is appreciated by wide range of audience.

Then, she starred in several lady oriented roles, a rare thing in Tollywood. The list includes Anukokunda Oka Roju, Mantra, Manorama 2009,Kavya's Diary in Telugu and Laadam in Tamil, out of which Anukokunda Oka Roju and Mantra were very successful.

Zinta played Akash's schizophrenic wife Sonia Kapoor. The film received predominantly positive reviews, and Zinta was particularly praised. The Tribune concluded, "Zinta has outclassed everyone with her convincing performance." For her performance, she received nominations for Best Villain at different award ceremonies, including Filmfare.

Dia wanted to complete her graduation in Arts by correspondence, but decided to postpone it as it was becoming difficult to juggle between the Miss Asia Pacific Competition, modeling assignments, traveling and training. She was assisted by Sabira Merchant on diction and etiquette; diet with Anjali Mukherjee; gymnasium and physical fitness with Talwalkars; clothes from Ritu Kumar and Hemant Trivedi; skin care with Dr. Jamuna Pai; and make-up and hair-care from Bharat and Doris Godambe.

Dia made her debut on the tinsel screen with 'Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein' during 2001, and thus was able to launch her career as an actress.

Sanjeeda was born on the 20th of December, 1984 in Kuwait City, Kuwait. She is originally from Ahmedabad, Gujarat, India. She and her family is settled in Mumbai. She lives with her Parents and her younger brother. Sanjeeda never aspired to be an actor, she came to Mumbai from Ahmedabad to help a friend open a dance school, after a few days in the city, she decided to stay and conduct dance classes in the school. She used to teach fusion dance. She acted in three south Indian films in a span of one and half year; co-incidence brought her to the world of Indian Television, Ekta Kapoor spotted her in a party and immediately approached her to act in her television show.

Sanjeeda initially gave a screen-test for Kahani Ghar Ghar Ki on being insisted to act in television by Ekta Kapoor but overtly impressed by Sanjeeda’s screen-test, Ekta finalized her as the main lead, Nimmo of Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka. Sanjeeda was appreciated by the critics and the audiences for her portrayal of the sweet, loving, accident-prone, girl next door Nimmo. She was nominated as the ‘Best Newcomer (Female)’ in all the leading Television Awards that year. Post-Kya Hoga Nimmo Ka, she refused conventional characters and wanted to try challenging roles on a condition that there is variety in them. In early 2007, she chose to play the volatile, aggressive and vengeful Ayesha of Kayamath.
